Ask any newcomer about what makes the St. Joseph area
stand out, and an answer you are likely to hear
is, “Such nice, friendly people.” United
Way puts that helpful spirit into effective action. In
2006, for example, local generosity translated
into 102,713 mobile meals, early intervention
services for 271 children with disabilities,
disaster relief for 110 families, protective
shelter for 386 victims of domestic violence,
mental health counseling for 715 low-income adults,
and so much more.
In addition to addressing
immediate needs, United Way also focuses on preventing
future problems through our community initiatives. We
invite you to take a look at the positive difference
that we can make by working together.
