HELPING KIDS SUCCEED: Good beginnings last a lifetime.
Recent research shows that brain development in the first six years
of life forms the foundation for a lifetime of skills and abilities.
The implication is that the best way to ensure a bright future for
the children of our community is to provide them with nurturing experiences.
Creating opportunities for learning becomes even more vital when
you take into account that over 15 percent of children in Buchanan
County live in poverty and 26.5 percent in single parent households.
