Partner Agencies

Working together makes the best use of resources.

United Way funds a wide variety of human care services that are provided through local partner agencies.  The approach makes such excellent use of donated dollars because United Way volunteers monitor both the effectiveness of agency programs and the agencies’ financial accountability.  Our United Way agencies work well together, offering clients access to a continuum of services.  United Way also leverages additional resources for the community by supplying the local match that is often required to secure government and foundation grants.
All partner agencies must be incorporated as a not-for-profit health and social welfare organization or chartered as a local unit by an organization so incorporated.  Other requirements include: a minimum of two years of providing local services; bylaws; a governing body; tax exemption/registration; compliance with non-discrimination laws; and financial accountability.
